Shefcast Digital is a consortium of Sheffield and Rotherham based local and community media organisations who have come together to establish a new digital radio platform.
Founding members include established community radio channels Link FM, Redroad FM and Sheffield Live! together with Sheffield Community Media, a community benefit society formed to promote and support community media in Sheffield, Rotherham and the Sheffield city region.
We have formed Shefcast Digital as an independent locally-led project which seeks to operate for community benefit the digital audio broadcasting service for Sheffield and Rotherham. We aim to nurture and support a range of high quality digital radio services which respond to the diversity of interests, cultures and concerns of our communities.
Shefcast Digital has been established as a not-for-profit social enterprise. Any surpluses made will be reinvested in the promotion of civic journalism and community media.
